Sara Ravelli

Exhibitions

Born in Crema, Italy, in 1993. Lives and works between Milan and Geneva, Switzerland.  She took her master degree in 2020 at HEAD Haute école d'art et de design in Geneva, Switzerland, while, between 2013 and 2016 she studied at Accademia di Belle Arti G.Carrara in Bergamo, Italy.

Sara Ravelli works across sculpture and installation, questioning the sentimental charge of objects and the idea of compromised, traumatised functionality. Setting up tensions between social contexts and emotionality she investigates the notion of domestication focusing on relationships where human, non-human and artifacts are in continuous oscillation and affection and control coexist. In Sara Ravelli’s work domestic and technical materials are assembled conceptually and emotionally, becoming both a burden and an element of evocation.
