Simone Berti, born in Adria in 1966, lives and works in Milan.
After studying at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, the Kingston University in London and the Advanced Course in Visual Arts with J. Kosuth at the A. Ratti Foundation in Como, he has collaborated and exhibited, among others, with Galleria Massimo De Carlo, Galleria Sales Roma, Analix Forever Geneva, Galleria Vistamare in Pescara and Schiavo Zoppelli Gallery Milano.
He has exhibited his works in international museums and exhibitions such as: Fare Mondi/Making Worlds, 52nd Venice International Art Biennale, 2009, invited by the director Daniel Birnbaum; Italics curated by Francesco Bonami at MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, 2008 and at Palazzo Grassi in Venice, 2009; Egofugal, 7th Istanbul Biennial, directed by Yuko Hasegawa, 2001; Simone Berti - Appunti Di Una Generazione, solo exhibition at MACRO, Rome, 2017; Visioni per un Inventario, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, Venice, 2014; The Road to Contemporary Art / Cose mai viste, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, Terme di Diocleziano, Rome, 2008; Apocalittici e Integrati, MAXXI, Rome, 2007; A Young Italian artists at the turn of the millennium, Galleria Continua, Beijing, 2006; Personale, Galleria di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea GaMEC, Bergamo, 2005; Borderline syndrome: Energies of Defense, Manifesta 3 - The European Nomadic Biennial, Ljubljana, 2000. Between 1999 and 2000 he participated to the travelling exhibition Examining Pictures, curated by Francesco Bonami and Judith Nesbitt at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and the Hammer Museum - UCLA, Los Angeles.
